Taiwan’s Representative to the United States, Ambassador Alexander Yui was in Dallas, Texas for the Taiwan EXPO USA 2025 event, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). In his remarks, Amb. Yui emphasized that the United States and Taiwan are vital trade partners and highlighted the vigorous ongoing economic exchanges between Taiwan and Texas are a snapshot of the overall growing trend in US‑Taiwan trade partnership. He also praised Taiwanese companies such as TSMC, Foxconn, and Globalwafers for embracing global expansion opportunities and their growing presence in the United States. Amb Yui had high expectations that U.S.-Taiwan bilateral trade will continue to expand and contribute towards a mutually beneficial prosperity.
Taiwan EXPO USA 2025 showcased five themes: Advanced Manufacturing, Smart Technology, Smart Healthcare, Vibrant Taiwan, and Taiwan Excellence. 150 Taiwanese businesses participated with exhibitions to showcase their latest products, technologies, and services.
The event began with an energetic performance by the world-renowned Texas Rangers Six Shooters Squad, who put a distinctive Texas flair on Taiwan’s iconic “Shang Yong” baseball cheer! Next was a stunning set from the Taiwan Ten Drum Art Percussion Group, paired with a cinematic montage of Taiwan’s cultural landscapes. TAITRA Chairman James Huang then delighted the audience by portraying as a starship captain, guiding the exhibitors in the Taiwan starship to join forces with the USA spaceship to seek out new frontiers in the AI and high tech economic cooperation.
During the event, TAITRA also hosted a “Buy America” event, which matched 30 Taiwanese firms with U.S. suppliers of agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, industrial components, technology, machinery, energy, chemical materials, and safety‑protection equipment. This initiative not only advanced Taiwan‑U.S. industrial collaboration but also further contributed to Taiwanese companies entering into the American market.
Taiwan EXPO and Buy America type events are adding new momentum to U.S.-Taiwan trade. Taiwanese companies will continue to pursue follow‑up discussions, with the aim of turning them into concrete collaboration projects that promise mutual benefits for both sides.
