A New Chapter in US-Taiwan Educational Partnership! Grand Opening of the OU Mandarin Education Center

Director-General Yvonne Hsiao and Education Director Rebecca Lan attended the grand opening of the University of Oklahoma (OU) Mandarin Education Center on September 23, joining over 100 guests to mark a major milestone in partnership with Ming Chuan University (MCU).
Supported by Taiwan's "Huayu BEST Program," the center will assist students in mastering Mandarin, experiencing Taiwanese culture, and deepening US-Taiwan academic partnerships.
Hosted by Center Director Prof. Nian Liu, remarks were delivered by DG Hsiao, OU Dean Michael Markham, Associate Provost Rebecca Cruise, and MCU VP Sophia Shi-Huei Ho, who jointly pledged to cultivate future leaders with professional expertise, bilingual proficiency, and a global vision. MCU representatives, OU faculty, students, and community leaders also joined the celebration.
The ceremony featured a touching Mandarin performance of “Don’t Leave Me Alone Anymore” by Bradley Quy, an OU master's student and an inaugural Study Abroad to Taiwan program participant, followed by a ribbon-cutting and a screening of the documentary “A Chip Odyssey”, showcasing US-Taiwan cooperation from language education to technology.
