In the massive and diverse metropolitan area of Los Angeles, there are always new immigrants and vulnerable families—regardless of their ethnicity or background—who rely on medical, social, and psychological support. Here, countless nonprofit organizations deeply rooted in the community have always quietly provided sanctuary for those in need.
Recently, Director General Jason Ma and his wife, Mrs. Anne Yang, were invited to attend the 55th Annual Fundraising Gala of the Chinatown Service Center (CSC). At this grand charity gathering, TECO-LA was present to express our deepest respect and support for the medical and health care services CSC has provided to Asian American residents over the years.
To echo the gala’s charitable theme of "caring for the community and supporting the vulnerable," DG Ma and Mrs. Yang specially accepted the invitation to prepare a heartfelt gift for the event: a live vocal performance of the classic masterpiece, The Prayer.
"I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go." Just as the lyrics beautifully convey, DG Ma expressed that every nonprofit organization serves as the eyes of the community, watching over the corners that are so easily forgotten. Every bit of love and support donated by the public is the light that guides the vulnerable out of their struggles.
From thoughtful care to substantial medical services, to warm community companionship—for 55 years, what the CSC family has provided to vulnerable groups is service, hope, and above all, dignity. We hope that every corner of Los Angeles can be filled with this kind of boundary-crossing love and strength, ensuring that every family in need can find a safe and stable haven.
