The Taiwanese-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles (TACCLA) held its 12th donation ceremony of “Million Masks for Greater Los Angeles” on November 23, 2020. The TACCLA donated 30,000 masks to the senior centers, daycare centers and police department of the City of Torrance. Patrick Furey, Mayor of Torrance, and Taiwanese-American Councilmember George Chen, expressed their gratitude to TECO in Los Angeles and the Taiwanese community for their assistance in this dire time.
Deputy Director General Richard Lin of TECO in Los Angeles also commended TACCLA for their act of kindness in the spirit of “Taiwan can help, and Taiwan is helping.” Deputy DG Lin also mentioned that Taiwan is willing to assist the international community to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Taiwan has world-leading public health capabilities, has been successful in combating COVID-19 within and beyond its borders, and is a reliable partner in the world.
