On November 12, Director General Charles Chou and Director You met with Kevin Guthrie, Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), along with Deputy Director Keith Pruett and Stephanie Houp, in Tallahassee . They exchanged views on strengthening Taiwan–Florida cooperation in disaster preparedness and emergency response.
Taiwan, known as the “Island of Resilience,” shares similar geographic and climatic conditions with Florida, with both regions frequently impacted by typhoons or hurricanes during the summer and fall seasons. Both sides have extensive experience in disaster prevention and response, making Taiwan and Florida natural partners in emergency management collaboration.
