A group of Taiwanese expatriates and supporters of Taiwan, led by Jack Kao, Senior Adviser of the Overseas Community Affairs Council and Manager of Amerasia Bank, have formed the "Friends of Taiwan Association" and are actively involved in local charity events, making valuable contributions to society.
Recently, they applied with the Adopt-A-Park Program to adopt the well-known South Econ Community Park, which is one of the practice fields for the NBA team "Orlando Magic."
After the City Government approved their application, Director General Chou and his colleagues drove from Miami to Orlando to participate in this meaningful voluntary program. Program Manager Sheryl explained the details of the program to all the volunteers, after which Director General Chou was invited to give a speech.
He expressed his delight in seeing the Taiwanese community actively participating in this charity event and how he was also pleased to take part in this program, especially driving from Miami for it. Director General Chou emphasized that the Taiwanese virtues of "treasuring our blessings" and "praising the bridge we go over" are deeply ingrained in our mindset, and by participating in this program, the Taiwanese community is demonstrating their willingness to dedicate their weekend hours to contribute to local society. This further highlights to U.S. society that Taiwan is a force for good!
