In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and following relevant guidelines from the local government, effective March 23, TECO-New York will suspend visa, passport, and document authentication services temporarily until further notice. Should you need any of the aforementioned services, please contact other Taipei Economic and Cultural Offices in neighboring areas.

- In response to growing concern over COVID-19 pandemic and guidelines from the local government, effective March 20, consular service hour at TECO-New York is adjusted to 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no consular services on Saturday until further notice.
- Applicants are advised to mail in their applications and opt for the return of documents by mail for the time being, instead of visiting TECO-New York in person.
- Processing time for passport applications is extended to 4 to 6 weeks.
- Service for expedited authentication is temporarily suspended.
- Longer processing time should be expected. Consular service hour may be further adjusted as the situation develops. Applicants are advised to plan ahead and use mail service if possible.
