 ※ Our consular jurisdiction covers four states, namely New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.  We only accept documents produced within these states.  For documents produced out of our service area, please check the web link (Consular District) to find a competent mission.

1. Authentication Request Form;
2. Applicant’s original and a copy of valid ID;
3. Document to be authenticated:

(1) to authenticate Marriage Certificate:

• (a) copies of the bride and groom's IDs;
• (b) the original and a copy of the Marriage Certificate.

(2) to authenticate Decree/Judgment of Divorce:

• (a) a copy of plaintiff and defendant's IDs;
• (b) the original and a scanned copy of the Divorce Decree.

(3) to authenticate Birth Certificate :

• (a) copies of IDs of the child and parents';
• (b) the original and a copy of the Birth Certificate.

(4) To authenticate Death Certificate:

• (a) Except for the informant, proof of kinship of the applicant/deceased is required;
• (b) the original and a copy of the ROC passport of the deceased's;
• (c) the original and a copy of the Death Certificate

(5) To authenticate Cremation Certificate:

If the name of the funeral home is not listed on the Death Certificate, the Cremation Certificate has to be notarized by a Notary Public.

1. Please note that a Chinese translation must come with its English original and charged extrally.
2. A Chinese translation should be written with traditional characters. (正體中文).
3. Two ways to have a Chinese translation authenticated; namely,

(A) The applicant signs on the Chinese translation in person onsite or, if by mail, the signature of Chinese translation should be notarized by a Notary Public; or,

(B) A Chinese translation can be notarized by a notary public in Taiwan with the original/English document being authenticated by TECO.

• Regular: 10 working days at $15 per item.
• Chinese translation at $15 per item.
• Expedite (if applicable): 5 working days at an extra fee $7.5 per item.
• Payment by cash, money order or cashier’s check, payable to TECO in NY; we don’t’ accept credit card or personal check.

1. By appointment: Our consular service is available from 09:00 to 11:00, Monday through Thursday. Click to make an appointment online.
2. Walk-in: There is a limit of 25 walk-ins daily.  We will start to handle walk-in customers from around 11:00 to 13:00 after customers by appointment have been served.  Walk-ins can take a number from 08:45 on a first-come-first-served basis.
3. Drop-off: An application placed in an envelope can be dropped off in our mail box at the ground floor lobby during our office hours. (Monday-Friday, 9 am - 5 pm)
4. by mail: Please mail your application to TECO in NY, Consular Division, Address: 1 E 42nd Street, New York, NY 10017.

1. by pickup: With the receipt or ID and no appointment necessary,  picking up on the cited date or afterwards at any following Tuesday and Friday from 15:00 to 16:00; otherwise by online appointment or walk-in-take-a-number during office hours. (Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM)
2. By mail: Prepare a self-addressed-stamp-affixed return envelope. By doing so, the applicant agrees to take the risk of lost or damage during delivery, TECO-NY will not be liable for any damage or lost.
3. By courier: Please provide a shipping label printout or email PDF file to consular.ny@mofa.gov.tw
