To accommodate consular application needs and changes to U.S. postal mailing procedures, our office will implement the following changes to certain consular application procedures effective October 20, 2026. Applicants are kindly advised to take note of the updated submission and document collection hours, as well as the revised return-mailing options.
- Extended Hours for Consular Document Submission and Collection
- Submission Hours:
Consular applications may be submitted from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on U.S. federal holidays, the National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the first day of the Lunar New Year. No appointment is required; applicants may walk in to this Office to submit consular applications. Applications will be accepted in the order of arrival and queue sequence. - Document Collection Hours:
Documents may be collected from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants may come directly to this Office to collect their documents. - Consular Telephone Hours:
Telephone inquiries concerning consular matters will be answered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

- Discontinuation of USPS Priority Mail Return Envelopes
Due to changes in mailing procedures by the United States Postal Service (USPS), this Office will discontinue providing USPS Priority Mail return envelopes effective October 20, 2026. Existing supplies will continue to be available until they are depleted and will not be replenished.
Effective October 20, 2026, applicants are requested to arrange their own return mailing and may choose one of the following options:
1. A USPS Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express return envelope; or
2. A shipping label provided by a trusted carrier, such as FedEx or UPS. Please be sure to enter the applicant’s or a relative/friend’s information as the sender. Do not enter any information belonging to this Office as the sender.
Applicants are kindly requested to make the necessary arrangements accordingly to avoid delays in the return mailing of their documents. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
