King County Council holds the recognition of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Double Tenth National Day Celebration in the morning of October 9. Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer reads out the proclamation of the King County Council and addresses the importance of sister county relationship between King County and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, then introduces Director General and Mrs. Fan.
Director General Fan gives his remarks and stresses that Taiwan and the U.S. are natural partners; both cooperate in various global issues. Taiwan is the only democratic country in the Chinese society but has been bullied by China more and more seriously. The Chinese government’s violent acts on suppressing Hong Kong, Tibet etc., should be taken gravely by like-minded countries.
All Councilmembers also congratulate R.O.C’s National Day and exchange their thoughts with Director General Fan.
