Nevada Legislature passed the Concurrent Resolution S.C.R.12 on May 20, 2021 in reaffirming the sister-state relationship between the state of Nevada and Taiwan. TECO in San Francisco expressed sincere gratitude to all the supporting legislators, especially Senator Mo Denis, Senator Scott Hammond, Senator Roberta Lange, Assemblyman Steve Yeager, and Assemblyman Jim Wheeler.
The S.C.R. 12 resolution reaffirms that the State of Nevada is proud of the sister-state relationship it has enjoyed with Taiwan since 1985, which has been further strengthened through the efforts of TECO in San Francisco. The United States and Taiwan share common values, including freedom, democracy, rule of law and a free market economy. It also addresses that Taiwan is capable of and willing to fulfill its responsibilities and to work with the world to respond to the challenges of worldwide humanitarian aid and disease control.
