Processing time : around 8~10 weeks
If the valid passport is lost or stolen abroad, you must report it immediately to the local police authorities and contact TECO in San Francisco for a new passport.
Please come in-person to interview for replace a Taiwan passport!
The following documents and fee are required for a new passport:
- A passport loss report issued by the local police authorities (you must have a case number if the lost passport is still valid).
- Written Explanation of passport lost
- A duly completed passport application form
- A duly completed Checklist for Applying for Entry Permit and Exit and Entry permit application form (If you don't have Taiwanese ID number, you have to complete this form)
- Two identical passport photos (1.77x1.38 inches, color)
- Your ROC national I.D., or Household Registrations Transcript issued within 3 months, or certificate of ROC nationality
- If you have US passport or US permanent resident card, please give us a copy!
- A fee of US $45. Payment Method : Cash, cashier checks and Money Order (Make it payable to “TECO”). Credit card and personal check are not accepted.
- Please enclose a self-addressed, stamped USPS Express Mail envelope with $32 postage or a Priority flat rate envelope with $15.00 postage (priority plus certified so signature is required). From now on, we no longer accept UPS, FEDEX return mail.
- Applicant need to come in-person to interview for replace a Taiwan passport. Office address: 345 4th Street, San Francisco , CA 94107 Open hour: Mon. ~ Thur. / 09:00 ~ 13:00
Your passport photos must be:
- 1.77×1.38 inches in size color photos. (From the top of the head to the chin must be within 3.2 – 3.6 cm)
- Full face, front view with a plain white background.
- Taken within the past 6 months.
- No showing teeth, no reflection of light on forehead of photos.
- No wearing a hat or headgear except for religious reasons.
- Identical.
- No composite photos.
- No dark glasses or glasses with tinted lenses allowed unless it is for medical reasons.
