To express our gratitude to Bay Area media partners and community leaders for their long-standing support of this Office, and to extend early Mid-Autumn Festival greetings to Director General Wu and Mrs. Wu and colleagues, the office hosted a special Mid-Autumn Festival dinner on September 30th. We invited distinguished guests from the Bay Area Chinese media, and Overseas Chinese Affairs Commissioners to join us in celebrating the occasion.
In his speech, Director General Wu stated that he will strive to build on the existing strong foundation, continue to foster bilateral interactions with mainstream American society, actively connect with younger generations within the American mainstream, and help the next generation of overseas Chinese learn more about Taiwan, thereby fulfilling the two key missions of overseas missions: promoting Taiwan and fostering exchange and connection. The Overseas Chinese Affairs Commissioners expressed their hope that under Director General Wu's leadership, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office will see its operations flourish, its services to overseas Chinese become more convenient, and its bilateral relations between Taiwan and California become more mutually beneficial.
