In order to assist local communities in Honduras fighting Covid-19, Taiwan has cooperated once again with the Order of Malta to provide 50,000 surgical masks to contain the spread of the virus.
During the donation ceremony held in Tegucigalpa on August 26, 2020, the Taiwan Ambassador to Honduras, H.E. Mme Ingrid Y.W. Hsing, presented the masks to Mr. Bernard Casanova, President of the Association of the Order of Malta in Honduras. Casanova expressed his special thanks to Taiwan for its aid during the pandemic and said that the masks are particularly precious during this difficult time. He added that the masks would be distributed by the Association to the local communities in need, including Villa de las Niñas and Villa de los Niños, which are special educational projects of the Sisters of Mary, and the Ojojona Hospital.
With this gesture, Taiwan wished to show that the country does care about overcoming the Covid -19 pandemic together.
