On October 17, the Bishop of Tainan Bosco Lin led a delegation of 25 pilgrims to visit the Chancery of the ROC Embassy to the Holy See. Ambassador Larry Wang greeted them warmly and, following a guided tour of the Chancery, briefed them on the ROC-Holy See relations. He also mentioned them the recent visits of President Ma Ying-jeou for the installation ceremony of Pope Francis and of Vice President Wu Den-yih for the canonization ceremony of John XXIII and John Paul II. To welcome his guests, he also organized a pizza lunch in their honour, which the delegation seemed to enjoy very much. H.E. Bosco Lin and the Taiwanese pilgrims specifically came to Rome to attend the beatification ceremony of Paul VI which was to take place two days later, on October 19, in St. Peter’s Square. The Bishop expressed his deep appreciation to Ambassador Larry Wang for having arranged their participation in this important religious event by obtaining the requested tickets. The visit lasted about two hours and several pictures were taken as a memory of this special time spent together. The delegation members heartily thanked Ambassador Larry Wang for his warm hospitality and lunch hosted in their honour and for assisting them in their pilgrimage to the Vatican.
