April 21st this year marked the first anniversary of the passing of Pope Francis. At the invitation of the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major extended to the diplomatic corps, Ambassador Ho attended a solemn and moving commemorative Mass.
As His Holiness Pope Leo XIV is currently on an Apostolic Journey to Africa, the Mass was presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals. In a message read by Cardinal Re during the Mass, Pope Leo XIV remembered Pope Francis as a "devoted shepherd who touched so many hearts," praising his missionary of mercy and his lifelong commitment to spreading care to all people.
Following the Mass, Ambassador Ho joined Cardinal Re and members of the diplomatic corps to pay his respects before the tomb of Pope Francis.
