Ambassador Peter Sha-Li LAN handed over Bursary scholarship to students of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Ambassador Peter Sha-Li LAN of the Republic of China (Taiwan) handed over the first batch of 2022 Taiwan Bursary Scholarship to the students of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, together with Hon. Minister of Education and Reconciliation Curtis King during a ceremony at the Community College on 9 December, 2022.
There are a total of 524 recipients for the year 2022 Bursary program, among whom 320,000EC$ will be allocated. The support given to students under this program is intended to allow many at-risk students to attend school on a regular basis and aid them with school supplies, meals, and transportation.
Taiwan and the SVG have an estimated of more than 11,500 local students have already benefit from the program ever since it was launched in the year 1998.
There will be three other ceremonies of this kind next week in Windward, Leeward, and Bequia.
