To relieve the impact of Hurricane Beryl, Taiwan has provided 200 tonnes of rice to SVG for food security, and dispatched 2 agricultural experts to enhance agricultural capacities by lecturing planting skills and enhancing seedling production.
On behalf of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Ambassador Fiona Huei-Chun Fan handed over the rice to Minister Hon. Saboto Caesar at the Taiwan Embassy on 16 December, 2024, as a testament of solidarity between our two countries.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Fan expressed that Taiwan and SVG have built strong relationship based on mutual trust, shared values, and sincere commitment to helping each other overcome challenges and achieve progress.
Minister Caesar thanked Taiwan for its prompt response to the impact of Hurricane Beryl; saying that the 100 tonnes of rice will soon be distributed to districts designated. He also encouraged students in SVG to apply for Taiwan Scholarship Program, and study agriculture-related subjects for enhancement of agricultural capacity.
