The government of Taiwan extends warm congratulations to the newly elected Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Leader of the New Democratic Party, Honourable Dr. Godwin Friday on his and his team’s victory. The people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines voting in an open, transparent, and peaceful democratic process is an imperative testament to their mature democratic political culture and their belief in this process.
Taiwan and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines share the common values of democracy, freedom, and respect for human rights, and cooperative initiatives have borne much fruit in our 44 years of diplomatic ties. Taiwan will continue to work with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in line with the “Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project” and reciprocal principles, to enhance our partnership on national development and various fields, and to usher in a prosperous and wealthy future that sustainably benefits people of our two countries.
Taiwan government and people also expressed their sincere gratitude to the former Prime Minister Dr. the Honorable Ralph E. Gonsalves for his unwavering support and contributions to the cooperative relationship between our two countries and Taiwan’s participation in international organizations in his 25 years of tenure.
