Representative Anthony Chung-Yi Ho donated food parcels to residents in Lekwa, Mpumalanga

Representative Ho of the Taipei Liaison Office in the Republic of South Africa, donated dozens of food parcels on behalf of the Taiwan Government to under-privileged families in Lekwa, Mpumalanga on April 22, 2021. Ms. Thembisile Angel Khanyile, Member of Parliament in the National Assembly, received the donation at a ceremony.
Representative Ho said Taiwan has donated dozens of millions of masks, PPE and other necessary items to over 90 countries in the world, including South Africa. “Taiwan can help, and Taiwan is helping.” Taiwan will do its best to be part of South African Government’s efforts in mitigating the Covid-19 impact on our good friends here. Sharing is caring. The donation will be a token of friendship between the two countries.
Ms. Khanyile responded by saying most of the 135,000 residents in Lekwa are currently unemployed. This donation has a significant meaning for the community. She thanked Taiwan’s support and friendship in this difficult time.
