On Thursday, October 8, 2015, 6 pm - 7:30 pm, at CERGE-IE (Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1), the Association for International Affairs (AMO) in cooperation with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague will held a panel discussion on current economic and security situation in East Asia and the Cross-Strait relations. How will the situation be influenced by coming elections in Taiwan? What is the impact of growing military budget of mainland China, or changing rules for army usage in Japan? What is the role of of the European Union and economic relations? These are, among many others, the questions which will be addressed by our panelists.
First, a video message with remarks of Taiwanese president Ma Yingjeou will be presented. The panel speakers will feature Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague, Mr Sheau-Jung Lu, Mrs Petra Andělová of Metropolitan University Prague, Mr Michal Thim of Association for International Affairs and Mr Martin Riegl of Charles University in Prague.
