【VISA APPLICATION】
1. All visa applicants must access https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw to fill out the visa application form online and print it out.
2. Those who has overstayed in Taiwan must submit a document explaining why he/she has overstayed in Taiwan.
3. Visa application has to be made at the reception and we do not accept application by post.
4. Applicant who holds the passport from the following countries and also who intends to apply for the visa using travel documents other than passport (ie. re-entry permit issued by Japanese Ministry of Justice) must apply for the visa in-person.
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cameroon, Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), Gambia, Ghana, Iraq, Mongolia, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria
5. Citizens from the following countries/regions must submit the certificate of polio vaccination (Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) or Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV)) .

【Travel Authorization Certificate】
Online Application for R.O.C. (Taiwan )Travel Authorization Certificate from the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior.
Citizens of Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam can apply online for an R.O.C. (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate from the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior.
* In alignment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ adjustment to the visa policy, starting 10:00 a.m. on September 14, 2023, Vietnamese passport holder submits application with a visa, resident certificate or permanent resident certificate issued by Japan/Korea as supporting document will no longer be eligible for a Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC). To those who have been granted TAC before or on September 14, 2023, still may enter Taiwan, subject to inspection by the National Immigration Agency, by presenting the valid TAC and related documents required.

【RESIDENT VISA】

(6) Resident Visa for Foreign Exchange Students for Stays of more than Six Months
*Visa application for fall semester students can be made starting from June 15th
Notes:
1. Documents issued outside of Japan or Taiwan must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission beforehand. (i.e. Diploma, Marriage Certificate, Criminal Record, Bank Statement issued in other countries must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission in charge of where the documents are issued.)
2. Visas are issued as stipulated by Article 12 of the Statute Governing Issuance of ROC Visas for Foreign Passports. As a sovereign nation, the ROC has the right to refuse applications for visas without providing any explanation for such decisions; visa application fee is not refundable.
3. Documents produced outside of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission; if produced in Mainland China must be authenticated by Straits Exchange Foundation. Documents that are in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a Chinese- or English-translation version. The original-language documents and the accompanying Chinese- or English-translation version must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission.
4. Those who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) without a visa or with a landing visa and those who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) on a Visitor Visa not for the purpose of undertaking studies may not apply for a Resident Visa or an extension of duration of stay on the ground of undertaking studies. Those not enrolled as full-time students may not apply for a Resident Visa on the ground of undertaking studies.
5. Those who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) on a Resident Visa must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at local service centers of National Immigration Agency within 30 days from the next day of arrival. Duration of stay is noted on the Alien Resident Certificate.
6. Obtaining a school admission permit does not guarantee the issuance of a Resident Visa. Obtaining a Resident Visa does not entitle the visa holder to enter the R.O.C.(Taiwan).
