The Artist Village Operations Department continues to implement the Artist-in-Residence Taipei Program (AIR Taipei) in accordance with the Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs Regulations for Artist Exchange Programs and the Artist Village Residency Guidelines. The program organizes residency-based creative practices and public presentations at Treasure Hill Artist Village. AIR Taipei maintains long-term, stable partnerships with institutions across Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe, building an internationally connected platform for artistic exchange.
The AIR Taipei Open Call 2026 will take place from March 30 to June 30, 2026, inviting artists and cultural practitioners to apply for a three-month residency at Treasure Hill Artist Village, Taipei Puppet Theater, or one of AIR Taipei’s international partner residency institutions.
The program encourages artists to engage with Taipei’s urban culture, spatial context, and contemporary social issues through diverse media and creative methodologies. Through exchanges and final presentations during the residency period, the program aims to foster ongoing dialogue among artists, local communities, and international networks.
Residency Categories
International Residency
Open to international artists and cultural practitioners. The program aims to promote cross-cultural exchange and engagement with local communities.
Domestic Residency
Open to artists from Taiwan to develop their creative projects at Treasure Hill Artist Village.
Overseas Residency Visit
Open to Taiwanese artists who wish to undertake residencies and creative exchange at AIR Taipei’s partner institutions abroad.
Treasure Hill Artist Village x Puppetry Art Center of Taipei Project Residency
This thematic residency encourages international artists to explore Taiwanese culture and puppetry traditions, and to investigate the possibilities of puppetry within contemporary art practices.
