2019 Filmfest DC will present Taiwan’s box office hit picture “More Than Blue” on April 27 and May 1, 2019 at Landmark’s E Street Cinema.
Directed by Gavin Lin, “More Than Blue” has been selected as Open Cinema by the 2018 Busan International Film Festival. A box office hit, this film tells a touching love story in Mandarin with English subtitles.
Record producer K and lyric writer Cream both come from broken families. One had lost his father as a kid and was deserted by his mother. The other has lost her parents due to a car accident. The two poor souls wind up living together, and treat each other as their own family and friend in order to make up for their own loss in life. They love each other, trust each other, gradually letting go of their own tragedies, and live a simple and happy life.
However, a sudden illness strikes K, leaving him only 200 days or so to live. He couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Cream alone. Therefore, he withholds the information of his illness, and makes a decision. He will try to spend the rest of his life looking for someone that can take care of Cream for him.
This event is co-sponsored by the Taiwan Academy, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States.
