Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta and TECO Deputy Director Tony Tai attended the Alabama Governor’s Trade Excellence Award Ceremony on March 21.
Regitar USA Inc., owned by Dr. Yu-Tung Tsai, who is also an Overseas Community Affairs Council Commissioner, was among the eight award recipient companies recognized by Governor Kay Ivey at the Alabama State Capitol.
Regitar USA Inc. is a private company exporting automotive electronics, power tools and mobile safety products to North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
During the ceremony, DG Liu also met with Governor Ivey; Secretary Greg Canfield, Department of Commerce; Mayor Todd Strange, City of Montgomery; and Randall George, President of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. DG Liu elaborated how to promote Taiwan’s and Alabama’s trade relationship and investment opportunities.
DG Liu invited Dr. Tsai and local Alabama Taiwanese community leaders for a dinner on March 20. During the dinner, DG and these leaders exchanged opinions on Taiwanese community development and how to contribute more to mainstream society. DG Liu also shared them the profound meaning of the newly passed Taiwan Travel Act.
