Director-General Robert Lo recently paid a visit to Mr. Dean Chou, owner of Kung Fu Tea in Bellaire. He ordered some Boba milk tea, a popular drink which originated in Taiwan, and a bowl of ramen out of a vending machine.
Mr. Chou said the ramen vending machine was designed by a Taiwanese fellow in California. He flew to California several times to try out the machine before importing two to Texas. The one sitting in Kung Fu Tea in Bellaire is the very first one in Texas!!
Director-General Lo applauded Mr. Chou’s innovative thinking in doing business and his support for Taiwanese products. The Taiwanese entrepreneur stressed that his love for Taiwan fuels his drive to keep on introducing popular Taiwanese food brands to Texas. His goal is to share delicacies from home with fellow Texans and Americans. A worthy one indeed!
