The two sides discussed a range of trade and investment issues, and committed to intensify engagement aimed at addressing outstanding trade concerns. This includes market access barriers facing U.S. beef and pork producers, and concerns such as copyright legislation, digital piracy, financial services, investment, and regulatory transparency.
According to the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, the annual USTR report highly recognizes Taiwan. In addition, the U.S. senior bipartisan delegation and the former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Taiwan successively, showing that Taiwan is highly valued and supported by the United States, and that the Taiwan-US relation is better than ever.
